Coordinating Outdoor Sets
Eclectic styles are popular, with pieces that are pulled together from many different sources. Who hasn’t seen a room with several different cultural styles mixed together? But sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t.
Selecting outdoor furniture sets can be a decision between an eclectic setup and one that is more coordinated. Often times when we purchase outdoor pieces, our decision is dependent on price, color and the time of season. So over time, we tend to pick a piece or two of furniture and follow the next year with a few more pieces.
But when we purchase a dining room set, we usually don’t buy one chair at a time from different sets. Instead we purchase the entire set at once. Patio dining sets should be purchased in the same way, with an even number of matching pieces from the same set and coordinated colors and styles.
Expanding on the idea of coordinating pieces of furniture, you could, for instance, select a Colonial-style patio dining set with sharp white scalloped molding and blue reliefs carved meticulously into the sides. The chairs could then be covered with blue fabrics and enhanced with white lines and ribbons.
Now what about a set of lounge chairs with a modern style of steel and pulled plastic straps? It may work, but coordinating the outdoor patio dining sets in a Colonial style would give the entire house unity by using the same decorating theme.
There are other accessories that can be coordinated as well. Outdoor patio furniture sets include so many decorating options. For instance, lighting complementing your setup can be installed throughout the backyard. Tables are another decorating item, from small side tables, to serving tables, to game tables and dining tables. Flooring choices are also available, like floor mats and rugs.
Weather is another big consideration. Picking Discount Outdoor Furniture sets that have similar weathering strengths is important, since keeping the coordination will be a lot easier if the furniture ages in the same way.
